The large eyed character from Tomé Hill bears a close resemblance to the rain
god tlaloc as seen in the accompanying photos of Jornada Style rock art from
south-central New Mexico. Tlaloc was an important deity of rain and fertility of
the Aztec mythology. The rock he is on has the characteristic triangular shape
